September 2008 Net Worth - $86,009.44

What can I say, the financial crisis is doing an efficient job of giving our investment portfolio a beat down. It is looking increasingly impossible for us to hit $100,000 by the end of the year. We’ve increased our net worth by about $14,000 so far this year, and we’re still about $14,000 away.

It’s not fun to consider things like the fact that 1 year ago my Roth IRA was worth more than it is today and I’ve investing $5,000 into it since then. So much for compounding interest. Really, it’s all part of the journey and it’s why it’s nice in the investing game to have a long time horizon.

      MG,
You’re right, and I am. Watching the net worth decrease is never enjoyable, but I am focused on the end game, and expect both the ups and the downs that come along the way.

    Got something to say?
