May 2022 Net Worth

Every month I post my updated net worth for those that are interested in following my progress. I have been tracking my net worth online since January 2006. I enjoy compiling the numbers each month, and doing so keeps me motivated, focused, and accountable.

This month’s numbers…

This month wasn’t as bad as last month’s, but we’re still trending in the wrong direction. It hasn’t been a a great year so far, but that’s just the way it is. The market has ups and downs. Historically it’s mostly ups, but there will still be down days/months/years.

The nice thing about investing passively for the long term is that you don’t really have to worry about it market volatility. You just keep contributing on a regular basis and let the market do it’s thing. It’s not the most fun way to invest, but for me, it has been the most profitable.

I have a trading account for fun investing, but you can see that that account is much smaller. It was a six figure account before being crushed in the pandemic market drop, so you can see how much “fun” investing has cost me.

As always, I’ll be excited to set new highs when the market recovers. (And I’ll stubbornly keep trying to get some outsized returns in my small trading account).
